No driving ban for general freight traffic. For dangerous goods transports, a driving ban applies for vehicles over 3.5 t GVW on Fridays, Sundays and public holidays as well as on the day before a public holiday from 18:00 to 21:00 on the following routes:

The driving ban for dangerous goods transports also applies on the access roads to Lisbon and Porto.
The tunnels on motorway A 23 (Gardunha, Barracão and Ramela tunnels) are closed to dangerous goods transports all year round. The mandatory exit is signposted 1,500 metres before the tunnel entrance.
For the city centre of Lisbon, a driving ban applies to HGVs from 2.6 t GVW between 08:00 and 10:00 as well as 17:00 and 19:00. For HGVs that do not at least meet emission standard Euro III, driving within the Lisbon urban area is generally prohibited.
Driving in the city centre area of Porto is prohibited for HGVs from 14:00 to 19:00.
