In Italy, environmental zones have been established in many administrative districts and cities, which, however, prove to be very different with regard to entry conditions, such as emission classes and times. Thus, for the cities of the provinces of Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Venice, Lombardy, Naples, Bolzano, Rome, Tuscany, Trentino and Umbria, there is a driving ban for all HGVs of emission classes 0, I, II, III, and in part also IV. Monitoring of these environmental zones is generally very strict and is carried out by video cameras, police checks and auxiliary staff.

Holidays: 1 January, 6 January (Epiphany), 6 April (Easter Monday), 25 April (Liberation Day), 1 May (Labour Day), 25 May (Whit Monday), 2 June (Republic Day), 15 August (Assumption of Mary), 1 November (All Saints' Day), 8 December (Immaculate Conception), 25/26 December.
