2026:

There are no general driving bans.

Trucks over 18 t GVW may not drive in the center of Copenhagen, bounded by the following streets: Nørre and Vester Voldgade, Stormgade, Holmens Kanal and Gothersgade.

Furthermore, for trucks over 3.5 t GVW that do not comply at least with the Euro V emissions standard or do not have a corresponding particulate filter, the entire urban area of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg is off-limits.

For trips to and from the ferries in Nordhavn, Copenhagen has set up a transit route that is not part of the environmental zone.

The cities of Aalborg, Odense and Aarhus have also established environmental zones in which the same emission regulations apply.

Trucks that meet the emission standard must be registered before entering the affected urban areas. Registration is possible online at www.ecosticker.dk; cost: just under 25 euros.

Attention: Cameras are installed at numerous locations in the environmental zones. These scan vehicle license plates and thereby identify unregistered vehicles. A violation of the environmental zone regulations costs around 1,700 euros
