Peugeot e-208: Small update brings more range, e-route planner and V2L

A small increase of 23 kilometers in range to now 432 kilometers in the WLTP, as well as an E-route planner and the V2L function to supply external consumers further enhance Europe's electric bestseller in the small car segment.

The Stellantis brand Peugeot has further optimized the European bestseller in the electric small car segment, the e-208, and increased the range by 23 kilometers to now 432 kilometers in the WLTP. For the version with the 156 hp (115 kW) electric motor, an energy consumption of 14.1 – 14.5 kWh/100 km is specified. The model's efficiency has also been confirmed by the renowned ADAC's Ecotest 2024, which listed the e-208 as the most efficient car on the European market. Also new is a route planner, which, in combination with the optional connected navigation system, is intended to plan the route to maximize the vehicle's range and facilitate charging. The system takes into account the distance to be driven, the battery charge state at departure, the desired charge state upon arrival, and the available charging stations near the destination. Energy consumption is considered based on various criteria such as speed, traffic, road type, and elevation. The introduction of the "80 Percent Charge Limit" function, available in AC, also allows for adapting the charge state to daily usage.

Also new is the V2L function equipped (only 115 kW), which offers the possibility to power an electrical device via the vehicle's high-voltage battery, such as charging an electric bicycle or using mobile lighting. To use the function for powering external devices (230V/16A), an adapter supplied by Peugeot is required. The maximum output power of the adapter is 3 kW. The function is available up to a fixed minimum charge capacity of 30 percent State of Charge (SoC).

New Multifunction Camera and Hybrid Classification

All new 208 models now come standard with a multifunction video camera that enhances safety by expanding the detection range of the automatic emergency braking system to better account for cyclists and pedestrians. Additionally, a new product classification for hybrid engines is introduced: The Hybrid 74 kW (100 hp) and Hybrid 100 kW (136 hp) are now classified as Hybrid 80 kW (fuel consumption 4.5 – 4.6 l/100 km) and Hybrid 106 kW (fuel consumption 4.5 – 4.6 l/100 km) to reflect the combined total output of the gasoline and electric motors. This anticipates a requirement of the Euro 7 standard.
